Head of Finance - Telephone Banking

This role is a challenging and exciting opportunity to lead and shape the financial direction of the Direct Channels business. The role requires an individual with strong stakeholder management, financial and commercial awareness and excellent communication and influencing skills. Responsible for leading the strategic planning and the development of the channel strategy.

Key accountabilities:

• Define financial goals for the strategic business planning process, actively participating in the development of business strategy
• Provide a financial consultancy service to senior management to improve business performance, influencing customer groups to make effective use of the financial resources available
• Define and direct the parameters within which financial information, analysis, interpretation and guidance to be provided to customer groups, thereby enabling an improved understanding of the financial implications of decisions
• Define and direct financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process, influencing and challenging customer groups to achieve agreed targets, ensuring these are in line with wider Group objectives
• Interpret external market developments, understand the implication on and respond to potential impacts those factors might have on the Telephony business and support the achievement of business unit objectives
• Support the Director of Finance in the development of an effective, constantly improving finance function.
• Lead the development of Business MI and analysis to understand early warning (lead/lag) indicators of business performance and create strategies to achieve short term traction and sustainable long term goals.
• Use business performance to drive new solutions that drive the short and long term strategy,
• Lead the development of Incentives that drive the behaviours and results in line with short and long term business goals and execute the operational delivery in partnership with Regional Teams. Manage appropriate interface with external bodies – UKFI etc
• Own and lead principle relationships with appropriate stakeholders including Product Heads and Regional Directors maintaining a robust financial control environment across all areas.
• Lead robust Performance diagnosis and shape key performance standards, to ensure bandwidth against key metrics is measured and managed continually against those key standards.
• Proactively identify all sales processes with continued focus of adopting ‘one best way’ across the Network, and manage performance against agreed standards
• Supporting the Regions to identify appropriate interventions to close the bandwidth of performance.
• Where improvement opportunities exist, shape and deliver a clear change agenda, and manage in accordance with agreed performance standards.
