This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and talented individual who wants to work within the challenging and rewarding Mortgage Sales team. This is a front line role, where you will provide a comprehensive mortgage sales and product referral service to customers. You will work in close partnership with the Mortgage Sales Manager, Branch and Local Director and will be accountable for the delivery of an individual mortgages sales target.
The key objective of this role is to provide a high quality compliant service to clients within both the existing client base, as well as prospecting for new clients. You will offer credible and knowledgeable advice to customers on mortgages and general insurance products, in order to meet customer needs and achieve performance targets within a regulatory environment.
This role is regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Individuals undertaking this role are required to achieve and maintain defined fitness and competence standards as detailed within the Training & Competence Scheme.
You will have a proven sales ability with previous direct customer contact within a sales or financial services organisation, preferably as a mortgage interviewer. You must additionally hold a CeMap 1 qualification and have a willingness to study for papers 2 and 3.

The successful candidate will be a team player, who has strong planning and control skills and is able to work within a challenging environment.

Skills
Key accountabilities * To proactively manage your own sales performance and implement recovery plans to achieve target.
* To conduct mortgage interviews with customers face to face, providing advice and recommendation where appropriate and actively selling and introducing General Insurance and Scottish Widows products and services.
* To develop business opportunities from existing customers, centrally produced leads and introductions from other sales force populations, including the identification, prospecting and acquisition of new customers.
* To identify customer needs and sales opportunities at the counter or sales desk and, if relevant, sell the appropriate mortgage product or service.
* To identify referral opportunities from customers, and pass to other specialist colleagues.
* To develop and maintain knowledge and expertise on FSA requirements including attainment of CeMap qualification, ensuring that policy and procedural knowledge relating to all aspects of the job are fully adhered to.
* To ensure that all seller activity is conducted to the highest standards of compliance within the training & competence framework and with all other Bank rules and regulatory requirements, and display best practice procedures and high levels of customer service at all times.
* To assess customers’ suitability for funds and ability to repay in accordance with the Group’s lending policy and other appropriate guidelines and procedures.
* To ensure the prompt and accurate completion of all initial mortgage related administration and documentation, ensuring compliance with lending policies and administrative processes.
