The jobholder will be part of a dynamic team responsible for managing the development, implementation and evaluation of new business acquisition credit risk strategies & systems in order to maximise the profitability across both Halifax and BOS banking portfolios, with multi million pound deliverables.
The role will have responsibility for analysing portfolio controls and strategies to measure risk and reward in support of business growth aspirations, whilst protecting against downside risk and improving the customer experience.
To support this, the role will require :
- Minimum of five years experience in the development of risk management solutions and the management of lending portfolios.
- Degree in a numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics or Operational Research.
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking products and market, including credit policy and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern risk management techniques and decisioning systems such as credit and/or behavioural scoring.
- Good all round management skills, including project management, communication, supervisory and interpersonal.
- A high level of creativity, innovation and initiative.
- Experience of the use of computer based management information systems, such as SAS.
- The ability to describe complex numerical problems in an understandable fashion, and to accurately represent real world problems analytically.
- Drive and passion to deliver.
The role will report into the Senior Manager, Acquisition PCA Risk, who has specific responsibility for the proactive management of risk strategies to acquire new accounts across Hx/BoS brands; Additionally, management of Fraud & Credit Abuse strategy throughout the lifetime of accounts.
• Responsible for developing, evaluating and implementing proactive credit risk strategies for acquiring new accounts.
• Definition of initial lending limit strategies consistent with business objectives.
• Management of robust proactive affordability and indebtedness policies to meet business needs.
• Definition of risk appetite and establishing robust controls to manage within it.
• Responsible for provision of key customer intelligence to drive segmented strategies.
• Minimisation of Fraud & Credit Abuse.
• Product development support.
