The Retail Mortgages Division of Lloyds Banking Group is the largest in the UK with assets in excess of £360 Billion. The first line of defence for Risk Management is led by the Mortgage Risk Director who is responsible for the overall risk profile and credit quality of the entire mortgage portfolio. A pre-requisite for sound credit and fraud risk management is the need to deploy rigorous analytical capabilities to support the mortgages operating model. This role plays an important part in fulfilling the first line of defence responsibilities.
The role holder will;
• Structure quantitative analysis starting from a high level business question. Focus the outputs on delivering actionable insights or recommendations that will address the key concerns.
• Drive insights that will be a source of competitive advantage and produce a step change in the performance of risk management.
• Plan, manage and control a range of time critical analysis, reviewing, challenging and making recommendations to meet business requirements.
• Produce clear, concise and relevant presentations / documentations of analysis ensuring key trends, issues and actions are brought to the attention of key stakeholders
• Support the strategic aim of the MI and Analytics team in setting the benchmark in the quality of analysis conducted and its presentation.
• Build and manage relationships with providers and recipients of data ensuring analysis can be conducted across all heritages and brands.
• Lead, motivate, develop and appraise junior team members as required, so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business.
• Provide support to other parts of the analytics and wider risk team as required.
• Highlight performance hot spots and recommend new areas for model development and/or policy enhancements.
• Provide clear and objective feedback, including both areas where the analysts worked well, and where there is room for improvement. Deliver feedback in a positive and motivating way.
