Senior Propositions Manager (Savings, Current Accs and Fiduciary)

Job Purpose

The UK Private Bank (UKPB) is a leading provider of private banking and financial advice services to clients in the UK market. UKPB has circa £30billion of client assets and over 1,000 client facing front line relationship managers and financial advisors. The business sits within the W&I division of the group, and has a clear growth mandate from the group.

The proposition management teams in UK Private Banking have responsibility for the development of new product solutions and ongoing management of all existing products. A strong focus on customer, awareness of the marketplace, plus robust management of the Product Governance Processes and adherence to TCF principles are key elements of the Job.

The Banking and Fiduciary area develops and manages the Savings, Current Acc and fiduciary services solutions for the UK Private Banking customers. This role particularly requires close working relationships both internal and external partners who support the construction and delivery of these solutions. The provision of savings and current account solutions are core elements of the Private Banking offer and a critical strand in delivering UK PB’s growth strategy. Fiduciary services, which provide trust, will writing, estate administration and tax services are important parts of the overall offer for Private Banking customers

This role will have responsibility for managing a team who:
- Develop New Savings, Current Account , Fiduciary and Tax offers to meet customer’s needs
- Work with UKPB Distribution Channels and key suppliers to bring these solutions to market
- Develop the banking and fiduciary strategy for UKPB as part of the overall proposition
- Manage these products through the product lifecycle including strong profitability and P&L management

Accountabilities:

• You define our savings, current accs and fiduciary offer including our price positioning, sourcing approach and relevant customer benchmarks. You are recognised as the owner of the savings, current accs and fiduciary proposition both within UKPB and by our external business partners.
• You are responsible for understanding the economics of the savings, current accs and fiduciary products we distribute and with distribution to drive efficiency. You are accountable for the income that results from these activities.
• You ensure that our product offers are compliant and that we consistently apply our customer promise standards and the TCF elements of product design.
• You understand our customers and translate this insight into attractive product specifications and compelling sales messages. You are a customer advocate and work with marketing and sales areas to ensure our propositions are strongly positioned and deliver what customers really want.
• You understand the external context our propositions operate in and monitor the regulatory and competitive environment. You are the "go to" person for information on our propositions and formally benchmark the quality and cost of our offers.
• You have a strong technical understanding of the savings, current accs and fiduciary markets and our products and use this to drive improved delivery from providers and to bring insight and innovation to the proposition development process.
• You are the lead person on any new savings, current accs and fiduciary product developments or changes to existing products. You work across multiple stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met, and the business cases for change and the associated benefits are delivered.
• You work with the Head of Banking and Fiduciary Propositions to drive clear value-based decisions for the UKPB business and are focussed on delivering attractive customer outcomes
and business profitability.
• You work with the marketing team to shape proposition campaigns and drive the content and positioning of sales aids and adviser/customer communications.
• You develop strong relationships across the business and build the people capability to deliver the Investment business objectives.
• Where required, lead, motivate, develop and appraise team members so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business


Knowledge/Qualifications/Experience:

Whilst not essential, knowledge or experience in some or all of the following areas would be beneficial:
- Chartered Institute of Marketing Qualifications
- Knowledge of the savings and current account market place
- Previous Product Management Experience
